According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through March 19, 2015 were 22.7 million metric tons (MMT), 24 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 29.9 MMT.

Net sales of 102,300 metric tons for delivery in 2014/2015--a marketing-year low--were down 74 percent from the previous week and 75 percent from the prior 4-week average and below trade expectations of 200,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Ecuador (45,683 SRW), China (35,000 HRS, 46 SRW), Brazil (16,500 HRW, 8,800 SRW), Japan (-3,825 HRW, 27,015 white), the Philippines (-9,966 HRS, 26,014 white), and Mexico (3,682 HRW, 15,075 HRS, -7,387 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 93 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 97 percent of exports committed by this date.
