According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through December 24, 2015 were 15.7 million metric tons (MMT), 15 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 18.5 MMT.

Net sales of 363,500 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 2 percent from the previous week, but 11 percent higher than the prior 4-week average, and within trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Indonesia (60,000 HRS, 42,150 white), Italy (57,391 HRS), Mexico (1,585 HRW, 21,713 HRS, 19,231 SRW), Jamaica (24,000 HRS, 18,000 SRW), Tunisia (30,780 durum), Japan (14,182 HRW, 378 HRS, 12,445 white), and Malaysia (20,000 HRS, 2,793 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.8 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 73 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 77 percent.
