According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2017/18 marketing year, through October 26, 2017 were 15.5 million metric tons (MMT), 5 percent behind last year's year-to-date total and 4 percent behind the 5-year average pace.

Net sales of 347,800 metric tons (MT) were reported for delivery in marketing year 2017/18, down 4 percent from the previous week and 14 percent below the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for South Korea (20,765 HRW, 36,345 HRS, 43,126 white), Mexico (65,175 HRW, 178 HRS, 3,713 SRW), the Philippines (28,000 HRS, 27,000 white), Nigeria (33,000 HRW, 9,000 durum), Ecuador (33,782 HRW), and Vietnam (22,038 HRW, 7,933 white).

USDA forecasts 2017/18 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 26.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 59 percent of total projected exports, slightly behind the 5-year average of 64 percent.
