According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through March 17, 2016 were 18.9 million metric tons (MMT), 17 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 22.7 MMT.

Net sales of 368,900 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were up 73 percent from the previous week, and 16 percent higher than the prior 4-week average. Sales were above trade expectations of 150,000 to 350,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (9,900 HRW, 63,763 HRS, 33,604 white), Thailand (30,233 HRW, 15,131 HRS, 12,500 white), Yemen (50,000 white), Japan (-449 HRW, 33,190 HRS, 6,000 white), South Korea (6,100 HRW, 6,000 HRS, 19,000 white), and Indonesia (25,000 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.1 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 90 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 98 percent.
