According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2016/17 marketing year, through November 10, 2016 were 17.7 million metric tons (MMT), 28 percent higher than last year's year-to-date total of 13.8 MMT.

Net sales of 598,400 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2016/17 were down 22 from the previous week, but 11 percent higher than the prior 4-week average. Sales were in line with trade expectations of 400,000 to 600,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (60,000 HRS, 22,800 white), the Dominican Republic (24,669 HRW, 14,989 HRS, 20,842 SRW), Japan (6,783 HRW, 24,851 HRS, 17,478 white), Nigeria (42,000 HRW, -300 SRW), Jamaica (20,000 HRS, 18,000 SRW), and Algeria (31,500 HRW).

USDA forecasts 2016/17 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 26.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 67 percent of total projected exports, ahead of the 5-year average of 66 percent.
