According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through June 11, 2015 were 4.73 million metric tons (MMT), 28 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 6.53 MMT.

Net sales for the 2015/2016 marketing year, which began June 1, totaled 376,700 metric tons and were within trade expectations of 200,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Nigeria (45,000 HRW, 15,000 SRW, 45,000 white), unknown destinations (5,389 HRW, 24,100 HRS, -2,900 SRW, 56,000 white), China (57,500 HRS), South Korea (7,700 HRW, 20,800 HRS, 6,000 white), and Ghana (29,397 HRW). A total of 567,100 MT in sales were carried over from the 2014/2015 marketing year, which ended May 31.

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 19 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 22 percent of exports committed by this date.
