According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through December 3, 2015 were 14.7 million metric tons (MMT), 15 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 17.4 MMT.

Net sales of 225,100 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 43 percent from the previous week and 45 percent lower than the prior 4-week average, and below trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Japan (13,925 HRW, 33,986 HRS, 20,620 white), Nigeria (41,000 HRW, 24,000 SRW), Taiwan (15,120 HRW, 29,610 HRS), Ecuador (30,294 SRW), Mexico (10,078 HRW, 4,373 HRS, 10,960 SRW), Cyprus (24,000 SRW), and the Republic of South Africa (7,700 HRS, 12,100 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.8 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 68 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 71 percent.
