According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through March 3, 2016 were 18.3 million metric tons (MMT), 18 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 22.2 MMT.

Net sales of 330,600 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 4 percent from the previous week, but 6 percent higher than the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 200,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Japan (50,949 HRW, 33,158 HRS, 43,142 white, -2 durum), Taiwan (30,014 HRW, 58,945 HRS, 14,415 white), Mexico (36,105 HRW, 47,793 SRW), Guatemala (24,169 HRW, 11,206 white), Venezuela (25,732 HRS), and Colombia (11,912 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.1 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 88 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 94 percent.
