According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through June 18, 2015 were 5.48 million metric tons (MMT), 25 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 7.26 MMT.

Net sales totaling 434,300 metric tons were reported for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 and were within trade expectations of 200,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Taiwan (30,825 HRW, 55,883 HRS, 12,750 white), Mexico (40,000 HRW, -35 HRS, 49,434 SRW), Japan (44,335 HRW, 28,619 HRS, 14,160 white), Nigeria (41,600 HRW, 999 SRW), Italy (1,421 HRS, 32,727 durum), and Ecuador (18,399 SRW, 23 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 22 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 25 percent of exports committed by this date.
