According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2011/12 marketing year, which ended May 31, 2012 were 27.9 million metric tons (MMT), 21 percent lower than last year's total of 35.3 MMT.
Net sales increased 30,300 MT in the last week of the marketing year. Net sales for the 2012/13 marketing year, which began June 1, totaled 165,700 metric tons (MT). A total of 1,295,600 MT in sales were carried over from the 2011/2012 marketing year.
USDA forecast 2011/12 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 27.9 MMT.
