According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through January 8, 2015 were 18.9 million metric tons (MMT), 24 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 24.9 MMT.

Net sales of 284,800 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 89 percent from the previous week, but down 11 percent from the prior 4-week average but within trade expectations of 250,000 to 375,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (110,700 HRS, 2,068 white), Japan (15,510 HRW, 34,890 HRS, 45,820 white, -5 durum), Mexico (64,899 HRW, 7,992 HRS, -13 SRW), China (55,000 HRS, -19 SRW), and Thailand (21,571 HRW, 14,300 HRS, 14,700 white).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 76 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 78 percent of exports committed by this date.
