Summary of Commercial Sales - Thursday, July 29, 2010

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2010/11 marketing year, through July 22, 2010 were 8.397 million metric tons (MMT), 34 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 6.289 MMT.

Net sales 919,900 MT for the 2010/11 marketing year were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average, and exceeded trade estimates of 300,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were reported for Japan (53,980 HRW, 68,481 HRS, 39,177 white), Nigeria (100,000 HRW, 10,000 HRS, 12,000 SRW), the Philippines (80,625 HRS, 25,050 white), Egypt (95,207 HRW), Canada (55,000 HRS), and Peru (43,289 HRW, 10,516 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2010/11 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 27.22 MMT.
