Commercial Sales - June 10, 2010


According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2010/11 marketing year, through June 3, 2010 were 4.173 million metric tons (MMT), 20 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 3.486 MMT.

Net sales for the 2010/11 marketing year, which began June 1, totaled 118,300 metric tons. Increases were reported for the Philippines (36,000 HRS, 14,000 white), Mexico (33,751 HRW, 6,500 HRS, 70 SRW), Nigeria (-7,386 HRW, 19,722 HRS, 4,850 SRW, 6,150 durum), and Colombia (13,140 HRW, 8,600 HRS, 1,150 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2010/11 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.49 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 18 percent of total projected exports, equal to the 5-year average of 18 percent of exports committed by this date.
