The Pacific Northwest wheat harvest is in full swing at the similar rate as last year with Oregon at the same point as last year and Washington and Idaho more than one week behind, compared to the same time last year. This week’s SW samples mainly consist of 43 percent from north central and southeastern Washington, 21 percent from north central and northeastern Oregon, 16 percent from southern Idaho, and 9 percent from northern Idaho. This week’s sample averages had the following changes and similarities from last week: test weight stayed the same at 59.3 lb/bu (78.0 kg/hl), moisture content increased 0.1 to 9.2 percentage points, protein remained the same at 11.0 percentage points, and falling number value stayed similar at 330 seconds.
