Good harvest progress was made again this past week. Approximately 65% of the samples have been collected. Sample collection should be completed in South Dakota, Minnesota and southeastern North Dakota over the next week. The average test weight continues to improve to 59.9 lb/bu (78.8 kg/hl) compared to 59.6 lb/bu (78.4 kg/hl) last week. The test weights range from a low of 54.0 lb/bu (71.1 kg/hl) to a high of 65.7 lb/bu (86.3 kg/hl). The average protein content is down slightly from 15.1% last week to 14.9% this week, but still above 13.9% last year and 14.2% for the five-year average. The protein levels range from a minimum of 11.4% to a maximum of 18.6%. The crop is sound with a falling number value of 384 seconds.  The average DHV is 74%, similar to last year and the five-year average.
