The Pacific Northwest soft white harvest progress in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington continues to be slightly ahead of last year and five-year averages. The fourth week's SW samples mainly consist of 23% from east central Washington, 18% from northeastern Washington, 15% from northeastern Oregon, 13% from north central Oregon, and 12% from northern Idaho. This week's sample averages had the following changes from last week: moisture content decreased 0.2 percentage points to 9.3%, protein increased 0.2 percentage points to 10.0, falling number value increased slightly to 332 seconds, and test weight decreased 0.2 pounds per bushel to 60.1 lb/bu (79.1 kg/hl). Pacific Northwest wheat producing areas had ideal hot and dry weather conditions for the fourth week in a row.
