Hard red spring harvest continues at a good rate despite scattered rain showers. More than half of the samples have been collected. The average test weight is up to 60.6 lb/bu (79.7 kg/hl) from 59.7 lb/bu (78.6 kg/hl) last week, and is similar to the five-year average of 60.4 lb/bu (79.5 kg/hl). The average protein is down slightly from 15.0% last week to 14.7% this week and similar to the five-year average of 14.6%. The average grade is a 1NS compared to 1DNS last year and the five-year average. The average vitreous kernels is 71% compared to 79% last year and 76% for the five-year average.
