The Pacific Northwest wheat harvest is about one week behind in Idaho compared to last year, and Washington and Oregon harvest is essentially finished. The weather in the major wheat producing areas of the Pacific Northwest continues to be favorable for harvest. This week’s 48 soft white samples consist of 53% from north central and eastern Washington, 41% from northern and southern Idaho, and 5% from Oregon. This week’s weighted averages indicated test weight at 59.8 lb/bu (78.7 kg/hl), down from 59.9 lb/bu (78.8 kg/hl) last week; moisture content at 9.4%, unchanged from last week; protein content at 9.7%, up from 9.5% last week; and falling number value at 338 seconds, unchanged from last week.
