|Soft red winter samples are being collected in southern Arkansas and North Carolina as of today. There are no laboratory data to report at this time. Local elevator managers are expecting a short crop with a rapid harvest in Arkansas this year. From North Carolina, reports indicate a high protein level in the range of 12-13%. Early reports have test weights in the 57-59 lb/bu (75.1-77.6 kg/hl) range, and falling number values have been averaging around 320 seconds. Data should be available for these areas next week.|
The harvest is expected to begin in Missouri next week and, weather permitting, around June 15 in Kentucky.
