Harvest Report - September 5, 2008
Durum
The 2008 durum harvest continues at a good rate. As of August 31, according to the North Dakota Agricultural Statistics Service office, harvest was 66% complete, compared to 74% for last year and 64% for the five-year average. As of September 5, the average test weight was 59.5 lb/bu (77.6 kg/hl), about the same as last week. Thousand kernel weight was 34.0 grams, up from last week's 32.0 grams. Damaged kernels declined to 0.2% compared to 0.4% last week.
