Harvest Report - August 1, 2008
HRW
Hard red winter wheat harvest is finished in Colorado, and it is nearing completion in Nebraska, with some irrigated wheat still being cut in the northwestern part of the state. Yield and protein from those areas in Nebraska are averaging 100 bu/acre and 10% to 15%, respectively. In South Dakota, harvest is approximately two-weeks behind schedule, compared to last year. In South Dakota, yields have been between 50 to 60 bu/acre and protein levels have been extremely variable. Test cutting is occurring in Montana, with harvest estimated to be five to ten days away.
