Harvest Report - September 1, 2006
SW
The 2006 soft white wheat harvest is approaching 90% completion in Idaho, and exceeding 93% in Oregon and Washington. This week’s SW samples mainly consist of 23% from southeastern Washington, 20% from northern Idaho, 19% from north central Oregon, 13% from east central Washington, and 9% from southeastern Idaho. The sixth week’s cumulative averages showed US #1 SW grade with test weight at 60.2 lb/bu (79.2 kg/hl), moisture content at 8.9%, protein slightly increased to 10.5%, and sound falling number value at 336 seconds. Favorable weather conditions contribute to a near completion of harvest in most areas of the Pacific Northwest.
