Harvest Report - September 14, 2012
HRS

The HRS harvest is near completion and this update represents 98% of the samples to be collected and analyzed.  Average protein content is at 14.6% which is slightly below last year's final of 14.8%.  Test weight average is 60.9 lb/bu (80.1 kg/hl) compared to a final average last year of 60.1 lb/bu (79.1 kg/hl).  Thousand kernel weight average of 29.1 grams is higher than last year's average of of 27.0 grams.  Sound wheat is indicated by a falling number average over 400 seconds.  Average vitreous kernel content is 75% making the average crop of 1 DNS.  Milling of composites has started this week and will continue next week along with flour and dough analyses.
