Harvest Report - September 15, 2006
SW
The soft white harvest is now complete and this is the final weekly report. A total of 349 soft white wheat samples were received and tested, which is 16% less than last year at 414 samples. Moisture and protein remained the same as last week at 8.9% and 10.5%, respectively. Other data essentially stayed the same as last week. The following changes were observed for the 2006 SW crop when compared to last year's averages: wheat moisture content decreased slightly to 8.9% from 8.8% last year; wheat protein increased to 10.5% from 9.9% last year; falling number value decreased to 335 seconds from 350 seconds last year; and thousand kernel weight increased slightly to 34.1 g from 33.3 g last year.
