|An additional twenty-eight samples were received this past week. Samples reflect wheat from Missouri, Arkansas, North Carolina and Kentucky. Overall, the crop remains reasonably consistent with protein unchanged from last week at 10.3%. Protein appears to be averaging slightly higher, overall, compared with 2005. Test weights are also remaining strong and averaging above 60.0 lbs/bu (78.9 kg/hl). Information on flour functionality is expected with the next report.|
SRW harvest in Arkansas and southeast Missouri is complete or nearing completion. Harvest is running ahead of schedule in all areas, partly attributed to the warm, dry weather.
