Hard red spring harvest made good progress
this week, and this quality update includes approximately 69% of the samples
to be collected and analyzed. At this time last year, only 25% of
the samples had been analyzed. There is very little change compared
with last week's averages. Average protein content is 14.6% which
is slightly below the final average from last year of 14.8%. Test
weight average of 61.0 lb/bu (80.1 kg/hl) remains the same as last week
and is up from last year's final average for the region of 60.1 lb/bu (79.1
kg/hl). Average falling numbers are well over 400 seconds.
The overall grade for the region is 1 DNS.
