Harvest Report - August 24, 2012
Durum

Harvest is progressing well with 60% of durum harvested compared to last week at 36%, according to the North Dakota Agricultural Statistics Service Office.  Favorable harvest conditions are reflected in the average Falling Number of 437 seconds.  The grade declined to #2 HAD due to a small drop in test weight from 60.0 lb/bu (78.1 kg/hl) to 59.9 lb/bu (78.0 kg/hl).  HVAC dropped sharply from 93.1% last week to 81.9% this week.  Despite the drop in HVAC, protein content remains high at 14.9% at 12% mb (16.9 db).
