The Pacific Northwest wheat harvest is about one week behind in Idaho and Washington, and Oregon’s progress is the same level compared to last year. The weather in the major wheat producing areas of the Pacific Northwest continues to be favorable for harvest. This week’s 86 soft white samples consist of 48% from western, north central, and southeastern Washington, 31% from western, north central, and northeastern Oregon, and 21% from northern and southern Idaho. This week’s weighted averages indicated good test weight at 59.9 lb/bu (78.8 kg/hl), low moisture content at 9.4%, low protein at 9.5%, and sound falling number value at 337 seconds.
