Harvest Report - August 13, 2010

Producers made good harvest progress in the hard red spring wheat growing region due to warm and dry weather last week.   Approximately 13% of the spring wheat samples have been collected and analyzed for quality.  Grading data will be available in next week's report due to minimal samples received.  Average test weight is 61.8lb/bu (81.2kg/hl) which is identical to last year's final average. Early protein average is 14.2% which is primarily from the eastern part of the growing region.  Falling number average is over 400 seconds indicating a sound wheat crop.
