|Hard Red Winter harvest is nearly complete with some acres left to go in South Dakota and Montana. Central South Dakota is reporting 25 to 30 bushel yields with good protein levels at approximately 12% and test weights around 60 lb/bu. Southeastern and western South Dakota are reporting very good yields in the 40 bushels per acre range with positive reports on protein levels.|
In Montana just over 10% of the harvest is completed. Early testing indicates test weights averaging more than 62 lb/bu with protein levels just under 12% and dockage at 0.3%. The unharvested crop is still rated at 56% good to excellent condition.
