Harvest Report - July 23, 2010
SRW
The SRW harvest is essentially completed with a total of 347 wheat samples tested this year. There was a very slight decrease in 1000 kernel weight compared to last week, but other wheat data remained unchanged. The grade information based on composites from each area surveyed did have some cumulative differences compared to last week. Test weight decreased 0.7 lb/bu, damage and total defects increased. The average protein and falling number values are equal to 2009 final data. Average test weight to date is up from last year's 57.8 lb/bu, (76.1 kg/hl), and 1000 kernel weight has increased from 2009's final average of 31.1 grams. As of this week, the crop average is a No. 2 grade compared to 2009's No. 3.
