THE WORLD'S MOST RELIABLE CHOICE.

HOME > WHAT WE DO
U.S. Wheat Associates (USW) develops export markets by demonstrating the reliability, choice, and value of U.S. wheat in over 100 countries. Our organization is funded by U.S. wheat producer checkoff dollars managed by 19 state wheat commissions and through cost-share funding provided by USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service.
Assisting Buyers
The United States is the world's largest wheat exporter. U.S. wheat, which is being grown or harvested every month of the year, is the world’s most reliable source of wheat. Choosing from among the six classes grown across the country, buyers and users can specify the qualities necessary for almost every end-use product. This combination of reliability and quality provides value to U.S. wheat customers.

Here is a recent segment of American Public Media's "Marketplace" program that explores the interconnection between U.S. wheat producers, export market development and overseas wheat buyers...specifically in Egypt.

This market strength confers a responsibility on the U.S. wheat industry, and our commitment to customers is second to none. That commitment takes many forms, such as keeping buyers and wheat food processors informed about crop quality and prices so they can extract the best value possible for U.S. wheat. It also includes risk management and technical education, market analysis, and in-country demand creation. Click here to read more.

Influencing Trade Policy
USW invests policy resources to help secure open global competition with equitable and fair terms. USW offers updates, analyses and perspectives on trade policy issues that potentially affect export markets and sales, such as multilateral and bilateral trade agreements, food aid, and wheat research investment. Speaking for Producers
USW does not buy, sell, or process wheat; we make it easier for everyone else to. Our organization exclusively represents U.S. wheat producers and their state wheat commissions with buyers, millers, bakers and wheat food processors. No annual funding is provided by other commercial interests such as private exporters. Without funding from U.S. wheat producers, USW would not qualify for export market development program support from USDA/FAS.

USW is proud to represent the hard-working farm families that produce enough wheat every year to fill American tables while still supplying the wheat that world buyers want and need. They build trust in our position that U.S. wheat is the world's most reliable source. Click here to read more.

Wheat Improvement: The Truth Unveiled

Consumers are yearning for more transparency and trust within their food “system.” In an effort to provide full scientific knowledge of how wheat has been improved, the National Wheat Improvement Committee compiled responses to Dr. William Davis’ attack on wheat breeding and related research. Responses provide scientific and historical perspective utilizing references from peer-reviewed research and input from U.S. and international wheat scientists, and are published by Washington's Best Grains.
